A Weekend in Atlantic City

//A Weekend in Atlantic City

Welcoming over 27 million visitors each year, Atlantic City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the US. While its world-famous casino resorts and hotels may have originally been one of Atlantic City’s main draws, there is plenty to do here, even for those who don’t like to gamble. Atlantic City has always been a favorite when it comes to weekend getaways, which is why we have put together this quick guide for a weekend in Atlantic City.

Where to Stay
One of our favorite places to stay for a weekend in Atlantic City is the Borgata, especially now that they have some amazing celebrity chef restaurants. The rooms are elegant and luxurious, boasting 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and marble showers large enough for two, providing the ultimate refuge from the buzz of the city. For those who would prefer a non-gaming hotel to stay at, OROGOLD would suggest The Chelsea, a chic boutique hotel that exudes glamour and sophistication. The suites feature a cozy fireplace, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies and sunrooms.

Where to Eat
With so many fantastic restaurants to choose from, Atlantic City is paradise to every foodie out there. The most popular dining options are the celebrity chef restaurants, with Bobby Flay’s Steak at the Borgata being one of the flashiest restaurants that the city has seen. For something slightly more exotic, we recommend Buddakan, an exquisite Pan-Asian restaurant that boasts a fun and imaginative menu. Expect to see dishes such as Hot and Sour Scallops, Kung Pao Monkfish, and King Crab Tempura. They also have a great selection of sake, wines and speciality cocktails.

What to Do
While most people make a beeline straight for their favorite casino, there is plenty more to keep you busy in Atlantic City. Situated next to the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, the beach is a great place to spend the day, with Bally’s Bikini Bar being the ideal place to wind down afterwards, sipping a cocktail and catching a live music act. The four-mile long boardwalk is also a great way to explore the area, stopping off along the way at various points of interest. If you are hoping to get some shopping done, then you’re in luck, as Atlantic City has a fantastic range of shops, from high-end international boutiques to smaller local stores. After a busy day of shopping, We recommend pampering yourself at one of Atlantic City’s many luxury spas. In the evenings, the cocktails bars, nightlife, comedy shows and international music acts will no doubt keep you busy, as every weekend in Atlantic City is packed with different events.

Atlantic City has been attracting serious investments in recent years, which is why it is set to only become even bigger and grander. With so much to see and do, as well as one-of-a-kind places to eat at and stay at, Atlantic City most certainly remains as one of our favorite places to visit for a weekend break.
