Most Relaxing Spots in Malta

//Most Relaxing Spots in Malta

Malta is an island of diversity, both naturally as well as culturally and historically, and it attracts a large number of tourists each and every year. When you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Malta’s cities and resorts, these are some of the country’s most relaxing spots.

The Waters of The Blue Lagoon
Located in Comino, the Blue Lagoon is a sheltered cove with white sands, clear water, and a beautifully inviting aura. Thanks to its dazzling beauty, it is one of Malta’s biggest attractions, but this means that it can often be quite crowded, no matter how cleverly you may try to plan your visit. However, the Blue Lagoon is also one of the best spots for snorkeling in Malta, and, once you are under the water, the bustle of the shores fades away, leaving you to explore this peaceful underwater paradise.

Gharghur
Gharghur is a rural Maltese town that many tourists do not know about, making it quite the hidden gem. It is an area of extraordinary natural beauty, and there are many ways to enjoy it, from taking a leisurely walk to engaging in a challenging hike. Gharghur’s historic buildings date all the way back to 1225 A.D, and, with its unique location, it is often referred to as the top of the world, offering a unique viewpoint that many do not get the opportunity to experience.

Mdina

Mdina at Night
Mdina was once the capital of Malta, and has a rich history that dates back over 4,000 years. This ancient walled city, commonly known as the Silent City, boasts towering palaces and winding passageways, making it feel as though you have stepped back in time. The majority of the tourists visit Mdina during the day, but night time is actually when the city, lit with traditional lamps, is at its best.

San Blas Bay
Malta’s sandy beaches can often get quite crowded, so if you want to explore a more serene part of the island’s coastline, head over to San Blas Bay. This rocky bay, with rust-colored sand, is often quiet, and with its backdrop of steep terraced fields, is actually rather picturesque. This is another great spot to come to with a picnic and a good book, although with its calm waters, it also makes for a fantastic snorkeling spot.

St. Peter’s Pool
St. Peter’s Pool is a natural swimming pool located at the tip of Delimara Point. With azure waters amid rocky surroundings, the pool impresses upon first sight. The calm waters here make it a popular snorkeling spot among the locals, while many others choose to simply relax by the water with a good book and a picnic.

Malta is home to a number of appealing attractions, making it a great vacation spot as well as a beautiful country in which to live. However, since it does draw in a large crowd of tourists, especially during peak travel times, it is always a good idea to have a list of relaxing and peaceful spots to visit for when you want some time to unwind.
