Held each year in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, the Boots and Hearts Music Festival is the second largest music festival in North America and the largest camping and music festival in Canada. With a strong focus on the finest of country music, the Boots and Hearts Music Festival 2016 will be running from the 4th to the 7th of August, and is expected to draw in a crowd of thousands.
While the festival does place an emphasis on new and emerging artists, the most highly anticipated performances of the festival are usually the acclaimed headline acts. Tim McGraw, who has dominated the charts in recent years with an impressive 32 singles reaching the number one spot, will be performing at the festival, as will Blake Shelton, whose first three albums were gold-certified. Other headlining acts include Jake Owen, Tim Hicks, Chase Rice and Emerson Drive.
For those who want to stay overnight at the festival, there are a few different accommodation options to choose from. Of course, camping is always the most popular, and there are massive tent sites available throughout the festival grounds. RV camping is another option, but, for those who like a little more luxury, there are several hotels that you can choose from. The Boots and Hearts Music Festival has teamed up with these hotels to provide festival packages, including round-trip transport to the festival grounds each day. The hotels that you can choose from include the Best Western Royal Oak, the Horseshoe Resort, Four Points by Sheraton Barrie, and the Hampton Inn Barrie.
Food and Drink
While there are always plenty of food vendors to choose from at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival, this year sees an expanded vendor lineup, featuring a delicious array of tasty foods. The variety of dishes on offer is quite incredible, ensuring that there is something to appeal to everyone that visits the festival. The exact lineup of food vendors will be kept a secret until the festival launches this August, but the street eats that were present at last year’s festival promises that the choice this year will be truly abundant. In addition to food vendors, there are also a few beer tents situated around the festival grounds, where you can relax with a drink before heading back into the bustle of the festival.
What to Bring
When packing for a music festival such as this, a number of the items that you will need to bring are dependent on your choice of accommodation. Nevertheless, warm clothes are always essential, even though the festival is held at the height of summer, as Canadian evenings can often turn quite chilly. Disposable toiletries are also useful, as are portable charging banks for all of your electronics.
The Boots and Hearts Music Festival seems to get bigger, and more exciting, with each year, meaning that this year’s edition will be its very best yet. From the toe-tapping music lineup to the incredible food available, this promises to be an event that all country music fans should definitely not miss.
