The third oldest Major League ballpark in the nation, the Dodger Stadium first opened its doors in 1962, finally giving the Los Angeles Dodgers their very own stadium. Today, the Dodger Stadium has become quite the LA institution, so if you are planning on visiting the city, here are some tips on experiencing a game at this world-famous ballpark.

Scheduled Games
Baseball season will be beginning again in the spring, and there are several schedules games at the Dodger Stadium from April onwards. From the Padres to the Cubs to the D-backs to the Phillies, the Dodgers have an action-packed schedule coming up, making 2017 the perfect year to catch a game if you have never done so. Tickets can be purchased online, or even via a secondary market, and, with a capacity of 56,000, tickets are usually quite easy to come by.

Getting to the Stadium
While driving may be the most convenient way to access the stadium for many, the traffic can often be quite off-putting, but, fortunately, there are several other ways in which you can get to the stadium. The Dodger Stadium Express is a free shuttle that runs between the stadium and Union Station, while those who would prefer to cycle will be able to find bike parking around the stadium at multiple locations. Walking is another option, but you would need to walk from either Echo Park or the Chinatown Gold Line Station so that your walk does not end up becoming too tiresome.

Seating
The Dodger Stadium is separated into seven sections over five levels, with ticket prices varying depending on the seats that you choose. For those who are hoping to score a couple of autographs, Field Level seats are best, while those who want easy access to stadium concessions should head for the right field bleachers, otherwise known as the All You Can Eat Pavilion. Since the stadium has a cantilevered set up, there are no obstructed views, but you should still choose your seats wisely.

Food and Drink
While many choose to bring their own snacks to a game, there are many vendors on site where you can purchase food and drink. The Dodger Dog is usually the most popular snack, served up grilled in a warm bun with all of the classic condiments, but the street style tacos from LA Taqueria are also not to be missed, as this stadium-only eatery does not have any other local outlets, which is why you will usually have to queue for a while before ordering. When it comes to beverages, beer is the perfect accompaniment to a baseball game, and Think Blue Bars is one of the best craft beer stands in the stadium, with everything from local brews to international imports.

Experiencing a game at the Dodger Stadium is often the highlight of an LA visit for many, and for good reason too. This historical sporting institution is one of the most famous ballparks in the country, and is definitely a must-visit for any baseball fans.
