Whether it’s for after work drinks or a few cocktails at the weekend, it’s always a good feeling when you can save yourself some cash with a great happy hour. Hong Kong is a city with numerous happy hour options, but, as with anywhere, there are some that are truly outstanding. Here are some of OROGOLD’s recommendations on the best places to spend happy hour in Hong Kong.

Agave
With two locations in Hong Kong, one in Wanchai and one in Central, Agave is easily accessible, and its happy hour every day of the week gives you a great reason to pay them a visit! Focussing on authentic Mexican dishes and beverages, with a great tequila selection, Agave’s Wanchai location serves up 2-for-1 fresh fruit margaritas, house margaritas and beer, every day from 3 PM to 9 PM. For those who would prefer bottles of Corona, house spirits and house wine, head over to their Central location between 5 PM and 8 PM.

Boqueria
Boqueria, which also has restaurants in New York and Washington DC, has to be one of OROGOLD’s favorite Hong Kong happy hour spots, simply for the reason that it is such great value for money. For just HK$188, every Monday to Saturday from 6 PM to 8 PM, customers can enjoy unlimited tapas dishes alongside a free flow of Red Sangria or Estrella. Chefs use fresh ingredients daily whenever possible, with the menu featuring a delicious variety of authentic Spanish favorites.

The Stone Nullah Tavern
While the thought of being able to enjoy your favorite wine, beer or spirit for just HK$1 may seem impossible, this is the way that the Beat the Clock happy hour begins each and every day at Wanchai’s Stone Nullah Tavern. At 5pm daily, standard drinks are just HK$1, with the price doubling every 20 minutes until 7 PM. In addition to cheap drinks, The Stone Nullah Tavern also serves up some exceptional dishes, from their fresh oysters to their maple glazed bacon or ribs to thei wood-fired pizzas, making it an ideal place to spend the evening, no matter what day of the week it may be.

Fatty Crab
A restaurant that originated in New York and has now made its mark on Hong Kong, the Fatty Crab’s cocktails are not to be missed, especially during happy hour. Created by an award winning mixologist, the cocktails feature homemade infusions and innovative ingredients, while being perfectly balanced and visually stunning. Their ‘Fatty Hour’ is every Tuesday to Friday between 5 PM and 7 PM, and features great discounts on cocktails, wine and beer, as well as on their fresh oysters and ‘Fatty Bar Bites’.

Hong Kong is known for its fantastic happy hours, and you will no doubt be able to find one each evening no matter where about in the city you are. OROGOLD reminds you that Wednesday and Thursday nights are also considered to be ‘ladies night’ at many establishments, and all of you lucky ladies will be able to enjoy fresh fruit cocktails, champagne and much more for free.
